Predictions

This weekend is set to be highly competitive, especially with the sprint format giving teams less preparation time before qualifying and racing. Teams and drivers will aim to prove themselves after Barcelona. Can Sergio Perez regain his early-season form? Will Mercedes stay in the podium fight? Can Lando Norris secure a second win this season? Or will Max Verstappen break the Red Bull Ring’s pole record, currently at three? Let’s close the Austrian preview with some predictions.

Predictions for the sprint shootout qualifying: Charles Leclerc third, Verstappen second, and Norris first. For the sprint race: Perez, qualifying in the top five, will climb to third, Verstappen will pass Norris for first, relegating Norris to second. In the main qualifying session: Carlos Sainz third, Norris second, and with eyes set on a new record, Verstappen will take pole. For the main race: a Ferrari strategy error will drop Sainz from third, allowing Lewis Hamilton to take the spot. Norris will finish second, and Verstappen will claim victory.

That will do it for the Austrian preview. Ultimately, I am looking forward to this weekend as the speedy Red Bull Ring is one of my favorite tracks to watch F1 racing. Besides, it’s always exciting to have F1 racing action on our TV’s. Enjoy the sprint race weekend!
