Predictions
With Formula One’s return to China, so much has changed in the F1 landscape since the series last visit in 2019. Adding to the challenge of predicting this year’s edition of the Chinese Grand Prix is the fact that the track has been newly resurfaced, and changing conditions throughout the weekend are a possibility. Considering all of this, I feel like this is a recipe for a shock to the standard we have become used to in recent seasons. After noting all of that, if the track is dry for both the sprint race and on the main race day, we should expect similar results.
Finally, without further delay, I will give my predictions for both the sprint race and the main race. For the sprint race, if the two Red Bulls are able to avoid any possible chaos at the start, I have Sergio Perez picking himself up to third, Lando Norris dropping back only one spot from his pole position to second, then Max Verstappen climbing up to first. In the feature race, the Red Bulls are able to make it a comfortable race for themselves with Verstappen in first and Perez in second to make it another 1-2 Red Bull finish. Coming in for the final spot on the podium in third, I have it going to Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes in what will be a pleasant surprise.
That does it for the 2024 F1 Chinese Grand Prix preview. Let’s have a fun weekend of racing.
